A talented singer and actress in both dramatic and comic roles, soprano Victoria Tralongo has appeared with opera companies and orchestras throughout the U.S. and Italy. She is thrilled to return to Center Stage Opera to sing Tosca after portraying the title roles of Madame Butterfly and Gioconda during their 2009 season.
Her wide range of performed roles also include Nedda (I Pagliacci), Rosalinda (Die Fledermaus), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutti), Mimi (La Boheme), The Countess (The Marriage of Figaro), Santuzza (Cavalleria Rusticana), Magda Sorel (The Consul), Hanna Glawari (Merry Widow), and The Witch (Hansel and Gretel).
Ms. Tralongo has been described as having a “voice like liquid silver” by the Tribune Newspaper, Phoenix Arizona, OperaOnline.us described her “demonstrated superb control…pleasant and strong soprano with equal comfort in her acting”, Opera News reviewed her “fine well-vocalized performance” and The Italian Voice and Italian Tribune writes that with “her glorious voice and acting she enters the pantheon reserved for the chosen few”.
Recently Ms. Tralongo has been seen in performances with New Jersey State Opera, Hubbard Hall Opera Theater, Riverside Opera, Opera in the Heights, New York Opera Productions, Chelsea Opera and Regina Opera and is an active recitalist and church soloist in the New York area.
Ms. Tralongo has been a regional winner of The San Francisco Opera’s Merola auditions, The National Society of Arts and Letters Vocal Competition and the recipient of the Arturo Coppola Memorial Award from The Bel Canto Vocal Competition. She received her bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance from The Oberlin Conservatory of Music and did her graduate studies at Arizona State University.
